The art of the doily.
Meticulously crafted doilies discarded and forgotten are collected.
Pieced, patched, and hand sewn into a harmonious pastiche around the human form.
Revealed is the art of the humble hand crafter. Time , skill, and patience.
A single thread looping and winding to form wonderfully delicate, ornate patterns.

The Realization of Childhood Whimsy. My faerie wings are crafted for the sole pleasure of the child that dreamed with abandon of a world that existed in the faerie realm... I dare say she still exists in me.

I distinctly remember my first encounter with a cicada. My reaction involved a dead sprint to my house whilst uttering a most guttural shriek. I was somewhere in my life around the age of 7.
I had seen the my first cicada exoskeleton. My momentary ignorance would not permit my appreciation of such a find. Little did I know as a mere babe that I had experienced the beginning of a beautiful relationship with these creatures.
After my shrieking subsided, the collection began. Plucking their barbed appendages from trees and fence posts, a bucket full of crunchy shells.
Many years later, the cicada pieces began. Nature's artistry preserved in their painterly bodies and delicate wings.

Woodland Faeries and Maidens Collection 2014, Wing Detail
My most extensive wedding collection to date. A wonderfully romantic and whimsical collection at the bequest of the bride.
Four incredibly feminine dresses that cascade down from a jeweled bustline for the bride's and groom's maids.
And then, my most favorite of all...
Whimsically Tattered Forest Faerie Flower Girl Dress with Wings, of course!
